East Multnomah SWCD: Make a difference! Run for our Board of Directors

Save the Date: Board of Directors Information Session on June 9!

East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District is looking for community members who care about land, water, and the future of our region to serve on our Board of Directors.

In November 2026, voters will elect two board members to help guide the District’s work and represent communities across East Multnomah County. Terms begin January 1, 2027.

Serving on the Board is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community while helping shape local conservation priorities, programs, and partnerships. Board members bring valuable perspectives, lived experience, and leadership to decisions that support healthy lands, clean water, and resilient communities.

We are currently recruiting candidates for two positions:

• Zone 2 Director — Represents communities across Multnomah County from the Willamette River in Portland to Gresham, to the Sandy River. Zone 2 map.
• Zone 3 Director — Represents communities within Multnomah County east of the Sandy River to the Hood River County line. Includes the Corbett area. Zone 3 map.

If you have ever wanted to get more involved locally and help shape conservation efforts in our region, we encourage you to consider running for the Board. You do not need prior elected experience to run, but you do need to be a registered voter and live in the Zone you would represent.
