(1/14 = Order Deadline for neighborhood planting) Hello There, First and foremost, I want to thank you for signing up to participate in Friends of Trees’ Neighborhood Trees program! My name is Rudy Roquemore and I will be leading the neighborhood planting for your neighborhood grouping (Kerns/Laurelhurst/North Tabor/Sunnyside). Planting trees thru FOT is not only affordable and important for the health of the urban canopy, but is also an awesome way to bring neighbors together to make tangible change in their lived environment. We really appreciate your consideration! After looking through order details for this planting, I’ve found that you have signed up for our program but have yet to place a tree order. I’m reaching out to folks to let them know that we have a bit less than two weeks to get those orders in before we start preparing for the planting event. We realize that there are many reasons as to why folks may not end up ordering trees, but I like to reach out and see if there is any way that we can assist with the process. That being said, if you have any questions about the process please feel free to reach out to your FOT Neighborhood Coordinator (email = “yourneighborhood”@plantitportland.org; ex. sunnyside@plantitportland.org) or myself directly (this email address or 503-467-2516). If you have yet to access your FOT account after signing up, please visit https://friendsoftrees.org/ and log in with your email address (used to sign-up) and password (“tree” unless you’ve already logged in and changed your account password). From there, you will see that we have uploaded a bank of trees that have been selected for your particular planting strip. Typically there are 10-12 street trees to choose from (assuming you were indeed approved for street trees) and a slightly larger list for yard trees. Once inside the system, you simply select the tree(s) of choice and follow the steps for payment and volunteer role selection. But if any of this is confusing, please feel free to reach out to us ASAP and we’ll make sure to assist with the process. Additionally, we will be making phone calls to folks who have yet to order their trees sometime early next week. I do hope you had a good holiday break and look forward to you participating in our planting event!
