Walk a mile with us down East Burnside to become an expert on the existing pedestrian crossings, the changes that PBOT has proposed, and adjustments the community could request. If you have felt unsafe or averse to crossing in this stretch, you’ll become an informed advocate for a street that works better for everyone.
Learn about crossing designs such as RRFB, HAWK, and half-light via lived experience of using them! There will be a surprise 1-block detour and an optional after-hang at the 28th/Ankeny food carts.
Meet at the corner of 16th Ave and E. Burnside in front of Little Baja (the outdoor pottery store). We start walking AT 6:30 so consider arriving early. All ages welcome and the route is wheelchair-friendly.
