Gathering public feedback on proposed service reductions
Have you taken our survey on proposed service cuts and changes coming in August? Time is running out! Visit trimet.org/servicecuts by Saturday, Jan. 31 to review the proposals, analyze maps and provide your feedback.
Public comment will also be taken at upcoming TriMet Board meetings and a special listening session scheduled for March 18.

Celebrating a transit icon
It’s a TriMet tradition not to collect fares on Feb. 4 — the birthday of civil rights hero Rosa Parks. When Rosa Parks took a seat on a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1955, she took a stand for civil rights and helped ignite a national movement against segregation on public transit.
Join us in celebrating an incredible life and legacy. All day on Feb. 4, honor the past, ride for the future. Ride free in honor of Rosa! Click here to learn more.

Keeping our tunnel in a state of good repair
At TriMet, we’re committed to safety and reliability. Starting Sunday, Feb. 1, we’ll be doing some overnight upkeep in the Robertson Tunnel. Regular inspections such as these help ensure our system is in good working condition, so we can continue to provide safe, reliable MAX service.
Work is scheduled nightly through Feb. 12, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Riders shouldn’t see major disruptions. Get the details here.

Connecting you to the Portland Winter Light Festival
The Portland Winter Light Festival is bringing spectacular lighted art installations, special performances, food and drink, and more to sites across the City Center. See them all with TriMet!
Plan your trip at trimet.org to visit festival locations like Director Park, Pioneer Courthouse Square, the World Trade Center and the Electric Blocks from Feb. 6-14.

Reopening a popular MAX station
Improvements at the NE 82nd Ave MAX Station are wrapping up! We have now fully reopened this station on the MAX Blue, Green and Red lines after a months-long refresh.
We still have some finishing touches to put on this new-look MAX station. For safety, please give construction workers space and follow all posted signs as we complete this project!

Delivering on capital projects
TriMet has a new Executive Director of Capital Project Delivery. Jamie Snook has taken on this role, overseeing engineering and construction projects across TriMet and supervising our work to keep equipment, vehicles and facilities in a state of good repair.
A former Oregon Metro planner and seasoned project manager, Snook has worked on nearly every major transit project in the region for the last 20 years. Learn more about her here!

Keeping buses clean
2025 was another record-setting year for cleaning on TriMet! Watch this video to see how we worked to make your ride more comfortable! Also, check out our new blog post to learn about the checklist that our Bus Maintenance service workers complete on every bus, every night.
We work hard to provide a clean, safe transit system that is welcoming for all riders. If you notice anything that needs cleaning or fixing, please call or text (503) 238-7433 (RIDE) to report it!
