Rolling Ahead Newsletter: Gratitude, Giving, and Get the Scoop on SPOT!

Sending Thanks & Warm Wishes This Season

As the holiday season begins and we reflect on what truly matters, our team is filled with gratitude for this community. Your support is the driving force that keeps us all connected.

For many of our neighbors, including older adults and those with disabilities, transportation is more than just a ride; it is a lifeline. It means maintaining independence, accessing healthcare, and staying connected to the people they love. Every mile traveled this year is a testament to your compassion.

Thank you for turning isolation into connection and for believing in the power of mobility. Because of you, thousands of neighbors can move through their days with dignity and ease.

From all of us at Ride Connection, we wish you a safe, warm, and happy Thanksgiving.

Countdown to GivingTuesday, December 2nd

GivingTuesday is a day to come together and make a difference that moves people forward – and the countdown is on!

When you give to Ride Connection, you’re doing so much more than funding transportation. You are helping older adults and people with disabilities access the rides they need to stay independent, connected, and engaged in the community they love.

Because sometimes, a simple ride means everything.

This GivingTuesday, your generosity can keep our community moving. You are connecting neighbors to medical care, groceries, friendships, and the moments that make life meaningful.

Together, we can make every ride a step toward connection, independence, and hope. Please mark your calendars for December 2nd and join us in supporting Ride Connection this year.

Sneak Peek: A New Way to Ride is Coming in 2026!

Exciting news is on the horizon! Ride Connection is proud to announce SPOT, a new shared-ride service coming January 5, in partnership with Washington County. SPOT is a free on-demand service that uses vans to provide flexible, accessible transportation.

What is “SPOT”? SPOT stands for Shared Public On-Demand Transit. Think of it as public transit that works on your schedule. Unlike traditional buses, SPOT has no fixed route. It is an “on-demand ” service, meaning you book a ride when you need it. SPOT operates on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Where will it go? The pilot project, SPOT Southwest, will expand public transportation options in the South Cooper Mountain, Progress Ridge, and River Terrace areas. Plus, it connects riders directly to Washington Square Transit Center, where TriMet’s frequent service line 76 and other bus lines can help you easily link up with the wider regional transit network.

Service at a Glance:

Type:   FREE, on-demand, shared-ride public transit- no fixed routes!

Hours:   Monday through Friday – 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM

Location:   South Cooper Mountain, Progress Ridge and River Terrace

We are hard at work preparing for our January 2026 launch. Stay tuned for more details on how to book your first ride at CatchTheSpot.com!
