The application period is now closed. Our volunteer-led Grants Review Committee will spend the next few weeks carefully reading and discussing the 60 applications we received. Stay tuned — we’ll announce the new cohort of grantees and their projects in December!

Activate Your Community Voice with the ABCs of Land Use

Land Use & Transportation Committee Meeting
Monday, November 17th | 7 – 9 p.m. | 
3534 SE Main St. or ZoomJoin the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability staff for an introduction to the Portland Zoning Code. The ABCs of Land Use will cover the basics of the zoning code and map. It is designed to for community members that are new to land use planning in Portland. Any one interested in land use planning is encouraged to attend or would like a refresher.Following this training, we will provide an overview of engagement opportunities at the Southeast Uplift District Coalition Office. Learn about how to empower and advocate for the district and contribute to the District 3 community.

Mt. Scott Community Center Reopens!

It’s official: the Mt. Scott Community Center has reopened following extensive renovations that added more interior light, improved ADA accessibility, a new HVAC system, seismic upgrades, plus new classrooms, meeting spaces, and an event hall, and more! This beloved community center welcomes people of all ages will serve as a warming shelter for residents during winter weather emergencies.

Find Your Neighborhood’s Leaf Day Pickup

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) sweeps up leaves primarily from neighborhoods with the highest concentration of mature street trees. Leaf removal in these zones is FREE and becomes compost that is offered to the community. Find out if you’re in a Leaf Zone and your schedule for the 2025-2026 season, along with instructions for how to prepare for pickup.
